Assistant Director – Warren Middle School
Shannon Autry is extremely excited to have taught at Warren Middle School since 2020, and has been a band director since 2002. Prior to coming to Forney, she was the Head Director at Huntsville Intermediate, near Houston, for six years. She has taught 6th grade band through high school band over the years.
Mrs. Autry graduated from Berkner High School in 1992 and went on to major in music education with a minor in piano and composition at the best school in Texas, Baylor University. While at Baylor, she performed with The Golden Wave Marching Band, the Wind Ensemble, the Jazz Ensemble, and the Courtside Players. She is a Euphonium player, but also played trombone in many jazz groups in college. She is currently plays euphonium with The Carrollton Wind Symphony.
Mrs. Autry has been very fortunate in her life to travel and play with many musical groups all over the world. She has performed at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and also in the off Broadway musical “It’s A Wonderful Life.”
Mrs. Autry’s hobbies include collecting and building Star Wars Legos, all things involving the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and going to the movies. She also has two adorable cats named Wicket and Kamino.
